Tania graduated from the University of Wollongong in 1994 and spent the first 20 years of her career as a clinical dietitian, including 15 years as a paediatric dietitian and 4 years as the manager of Campbelltown & Camden Hospitals dietetics department. She opened her private practice, Tania Hillman Nutrition & Dietetics, in Camden in 2016 with the goal of offering a depth and quality of dietetic service that was more importantly client-centred. During that time Tania developed a passion for weight neutral, non-diet approaches for both adults and children and abandoned weight loss services in order to align more closely with evidence-based practice and her own personal values.

Further training and work with both adult and paediatric clients cemented her passion in this approach and a desire to offer safer, more inclusive and trauma-informed care for neurodivergent clients and other marginalised client groups. Most recently Tania has become a champion for safe blended tube feeding and is a keen advocate for her paediatric tube fed clients, regardless of how they do tube feeding. She also loves supporting early and mid-career dietitians both formally and informally.

Tania’s training includes:

  • Certificate of Paediatric Nutrition & Dietetics - Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne 2004

  • Certificate IV Frontline Management 2009

  • SOS Approach to Feeding Accreditation 2010

  • DAA National Paediatric Dietetic Training 2016

  • Non-Diet Approach to Weight Concern (HAES) 2017

  • Motivational Interviewing (MI) 2018

  • ANZAED Management & Dietetic Treatment of Eating Disorders 2019

  • Monash University: Low FODMAP diet for Irritable Bowel Syndrome 2020

Tania’s vision is for Nourish & Thrive to be a nutrition, dietetics and feeding service that welcomes, skilfully supports and nurtures people in all bodies, with all neurotypes, to build a comfortable and healthy relationship with food, eating, nutrition and/or feeding so they can enjoy a bigger world and life beyond food.

Her mission is for Nourish & Thrive to attract and retain like-minded clinicians to allow her vision to blossom and continue to grow.

When Tania is not at Nourish & Thrive, she can be found playing word games, hanging out with her husband, adult kids and 14 year old fur baby Nelson, cleaning her house, volunteering with local charity We Are Community, or dreaming of her next travel adventure (with a glass of Chardy in hand). Her life goal is to have time to cook the food she loves to eat, and travel the world with her hubby while providing professional supervision to dietitians.
